You adjust the size by clicking and dragging the border of the notes. When you create a new sticky note, it appears next to the previous notes. Every now and then you have to do a big cleaning in the note list otherwise too many old memos will be left behind. You just start typing and the sticky notes that match the keywords will appear in the overview. The list has a handy search box to quickly find a specific note, even if you have a lot of sticky notes. In the same way you can do the command Delete note select. You can bring a collapsed note back to the desktop by right-clicking on it and Open note to select.

The note list contains every cat bell you’ve ever created that you haven’t permanently deleted. When you close a note by clicking the cross in the top right corner, it disappears from the desktop, but remains available in the note list. From the taskbar you can quickly create a new note and reach the settings. Otherwise, you’ll first need to go to the Sticky Notes List from an open Sticky Note to find the Settings there in the top right corner. You can also access the program’s settings faster from the taskbar. From there, open and hide all notes with the right mouse button and quickly create a new note. Once you’ve opened the program, right-click on the icon in the taskbar and choose Pin to taskbar. That way you always have it within reach. If there is one program that we recommend pinning to the taskbar, it is Sticky Notes. You only need to remember a few shortcuts. Select the text and then use one of the keyboard shortcuts:ĭelete (Delete): CTRL+D. Those keyboard shortcuts largely match those of Microsoft Become. You can of course also use keyboard shortcuts instead of the buttons at the bottom. You can change the style of the text, but you cannot change the font. Double click on a note’s bar to maximize it, repeat to minimize the note.

And the plus icon in the top left corner creates a new sticky note. You can delete the note or view the list of all notes via the three-dot menu in the top right corner. You type the search query in the Start menu Sticky Notes and there appears the familiar tool with the basic buttons at the bottom. Sticky Notes is pre-installed in the system. Sticky Notes is one such app that people can understand at a glance by recognizing the paper cat bell, but because of that, they sometimes miss out on some underlying features that make life easier. If you come across something that you want to remember, then you would like to record it in the digital version of the well-known colored Post-it stickers. And while that app feels a bit old-fashioned, those virtual post-its can do more than what most people think. But of course there is the digital alternative: Sticky Notes. We're not seeing this update on any of our Windows Insider or Production ring machines just yet, but Microsoft's Jen Gentleman recently tweeted about the new version of the app, saying it should be rolling out now. Indeed, Microsoft has released a new version of Sticky Notes on Windows 10, bringing a new color picker UI and options to change font size.
